Our source hierarchy
Official scheme documentation and regulators come first, followed by vehicle and charger manufacturers, electricity suppliers, then reputable secondary reporting. We record the URL, publisher, access date and the location of the supporting statement.
United Kingdom
GOV.UK and OZEV are starting points for chargepoint grants. Ofgem provides regulatory context. Electricity supplier schedules establish actual tariff rates. DfT and SMMT may support transport context, subject to their data licensing.
Ireland
SEAI provides charger grant scheme documents and registers. CRU provides regulatory information. Supplier terms establish current electricity prices; SIMI provides market context subject to licensing.
Product data and provenance
Vehicle variants, battery capacity and AC limits must come from the relevant market’s manufacturer documentation. Charger capabilities must come from the actual model’s documentation. Each data field can carry its own evidence record. We never assume that a specification in one country applies to another.
Automatic imports
The Octopus public API adapter retrieves published, dated rate intervals. Imported responses require validation before promotion to verified catalogue data. We do not request account credentials or private consumption information.
